Directions to the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery

Directions are available from the Madison airport, Milwaukee and Chicago.


Directions from the Madison Airport (Dane County Regional)

  1. Exit the airport on International Ln. (only choice).
  2. Follow International Ln. to the second stoplight (International Ln. ends) and turn left onto Packers Ave. (WI-113)
  3. Follow Packers Ave., which becomes E. Johnson St. and then E. Gorham St.
  4. Follow Gorham St., which becomes University Ave. The Institutes for Discovery building is located at the 1300 block of University Ave. on the left side of the street, between N. Orchard St. and N. Randall Ave. 
  5. Parking is available in Lot 20, which serves Genetics and the McArdle Laboratory and is located on the right side of University Ave. across from the Institutes for Discovery building.
  6. Parking also is available in Lot 17, which is behind Engineering Hall and Camp Randall Stadium.  Turn left onto N. Randall Ave.  Go straight across Campus Dr. and make the next right turn just before Engineering Hall.  Lot 17 will be on your left.  

Directions from Milwaukee

  1. Traveling from Milwaukee on I-94, exit onto I-90E (Janesville exit) as you approach Madison.
  2. From I-90E, take exit 142A to Hwy 12/18 W (West Beltline Hwy).
  3. From Hwy 12/18, take exit 261B onto Park St. Follow Park St. north to University Ave. Turn left onto University.
  4. The Institutes for Discovery building is located at the 1300 block of University Ave. on the left side of the street, between N. Orchard St. and N. Randall Ave. 
  5. Parking is available in Lot 20, which serves Genetics and the McArdle Laboratory and is located on the right side of University Ave. across from the Institutes for Discovery building.
  6. Parking also is available in Lot 17, which is behind Engineering Hall and Camp Randall Stadium.  Turn left onto N. Randall Ave.  Go straight across Campus Dr. and make the next right turn just before Engineering Hall.  Lot 17 will be on your left.  

Directions from Chicago

  1. Travel on I-90 from Chicago to Madison.
