IT Systems – What to expect
Printing/Copying/Faxing
There are 10 printer copiers in the building. Eight are color and two are black and white. The lower level and floors two and four each have two printers. Floor three has three printers. We will have faxing capability on eight of the 10. You will be set up for the printers on your floor as default. If you would like additional access to printers on other floors, put in a support request.
Phones
The phone plan was a best effort based on the information that was provided. We have phones everywhere that was planned. If you do not have one when you move into your office and you should have one, let us know. If your name does not show up on your phone, let us know that as well.
We have separate handouts and training for the phone and voice mail system. There are a number of individuals who can assist with general phone questions.
Audiovisual Systems
There are 18 conference rooms with projectors and hookups for laptop computers. Additionally, there are four video conference rooms with projectors as well as the forum.
There are two mobile projectors; however, there should always be a conference room open. If there are no open conference rooms or the space you require needs a portable projector, scheduling of room resources is provided through the EMS system.
The TelePresence room should be scheduled through EMS as well.
Network File Space
You will have your own private storage space on the network that is backed up nightly. This drive will be accessible only by you. In addition, you will have access to an allshare drive that anyone can read/write to and private file space for your research group.
Wireless Internet Access
Wireless access to the Internet currently is provided through the WIDMIR-Guest and Town Center SSIDs. This provides external access only. No building networks or services are available.
Internal wireless access is provided through the WIDMIR SSID and gives access to internal services and networks. (Internal access requires a username and password.)
