Insights on the America Invents Act from Former Patent Commissioner Bob Stoll

Thursday, April 12, 2012
11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. | H. F. DeLuca Forum
Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery

Law firms, corporations and intellectual property experts across the country are analyzing the America Invents Act (AIA), which took effect last fall and is prompting the most significant changes to U.S. patent law in decades.

Former U.S. Patent Commissioner Bob Stoll, who last fall left the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office after 29 years of service, will share his working view of the legislation, tips for navigating its unknown waters and how it is changing the patent process.

Stoll, now a partner with the law firm Drinker, Biddle & Reath LLP, will introduce the campus community to the new patent legislation and discuss its likely impact. In this interactive session, you can learn how to evaluate best practices in protecting, defending and enforcing intellectual property rights against others.
