Morgridge Outreach Experiences Workshops
Our team currently offers two workshops focused on human pluripotent stem cells. These programs offer a unique opportunity for participants to not only learn about stem cells, but actually look at the cells in a laboratory setting.
Large Group Experience: Stem Cells 101
Group Size: 15-30 people
Length: 2 hours
Cost: $50/group*
- Stem Cells 101 Lecture: Learn about the history, science, ethics and potential applications of stem cells.
- Microscope Demo: View and discuss differences between embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells.
- Stem Cell Trivia: Students compete with classmates to see who has learned the most about stem cells.

Instructional Resources: Our pre- and post-workshop teaching resources will help reinforce stem cell learning objectives.
Small Group Experience: Stem Cells 101
Group Size: 15 or fewer people
Length: 2-2.5 hours
Cost: $250/group*
- Stem Cells 101 Lecture: Learn about the history, science, ethics and potential applications of stem cells.
- Microscope Demo: View and discuss differences between embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells.
- Lab Activity: After a short demo by research staff, students will get to work with stem cells by carrying out two routine tasks in the lab involving the passaging and maintenance of stem cells.

* Scholarships may be available to schools with minimal financial resources.
