Discovery Challenge

A research competition for UW–Madison graduate students and postdoctoral researchers from all departments and fields of study.

2014 WARF Discovery Challenge

The Discovery Challenge, part of the WARF Student Ambassador program, aims to promote cross-disciplinary research. It is a forum for students to share research results, exchange ideas and improve their communication skills. It began with a series of lectures and workshops aimed at preparing graduate students and postdoctoral researchers for the event. Then participants competed for a total of $2,000 in cash prizes at a research symposium held on May 21, 2014. Participants and those who attended the symposium are eligible to participate in part three of the Discovery Challenge: a mini-grant competition to be held in the fall of 2014. Up to two mini-grants of $7,500 each will be awarded to research teams to advance their innovative and collaborative projects.
