MADISON, Wis. – Kids, families and learners of all ages are invited to explore the science behind their favorite sports alongside UW student-athletes from Badgers Give Back at this month’s Saturday Science event.

“Badger Athletics: Strength of the Body and Mind” will be held on Saturday, February 2, at the Discovery Building from 10 a.m. to noon. The event is free and open to the public.

UW student-athletes will help participants explore a variety of hands-on stations, including testing safety techniques for playing sports, doing quickness tests to measure speed and learning more about fitness and health.

Student-athletes from football, volleyball, crew and more will be at the event to help participants explore how the body and mind work together.

This event is part of Saturday Science, an ongoing program that helps community members connect with science in a casual atmosphere. The program is typically held on the first Saturday of every month at the Discovery Building, 330 N. Orchard St., Madison. For more information, visit: discovery.wisc.edu/saturdayscience.

The next Saturday Science event will be on March 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event theme is Spring in Your Step.
