Parking

Location

Nearby parking is available in lot 20, which is located across University Avenue from the Discovery Building and can be accessed from University Avenue.

Parking also is available in lot 17, which is behind Engineering Hall and Camp Randall Stadium and can be accessed via North Randall Avenue. Lot 80, the Union South underground parking garage, can be accessed from Dayton Street.

Cost

Parking in lots 17 and 20 usually is free on weekends, unless there is a special event such as a home football game.

From 7 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., visitor parking in lots 17, 20 and 80 costs $1 per 30 minutes for the first two hours and $1 per hour thereafter, up to a maximum of $12 per day. From 4:30 p.m. until midnight, visitor parking costs $1 per hour, up to a maximum of $5 per evening.

Disabled Parking

Disabled parking is available in lots 17, 20 and 80. Individuals also can be dropped off at the main entrance to the building on Orchard Street.

Bus Info

The Discovery Building is located near several city of Madison Metro Transit bus stops, including the Randall Avenue and Engineering Drive stop on Route 80, which is the free campus route.

Bike Info

UW–Madison offers a strong network of bicycle routes, including several near the Discovery Building, and is continuously adding new connections. Bicycle parking is available near the entrances to the building.
